Late model 6000A. The tube chart is dated 1969 and the original Hickok labeled RCA 83 and 5Y3GT rectifiers tubes are also dated 1969 and tested NOS. The tube island appears to be virtually unused.

Calibrated and Near Perfect Specs in a NEW heavy duty case. This particular 6000A appears to have been used very little since new in 1969 and still looks as good.

New Custom Case with an oversized top cover (as compared to the original). The top of the case can be closed with full size socket savers left in place and the plate cap wire tucked away in the tube island. The case is solid ¾” wood with all new heavy duty hardware and is painted a textured black.

The original Hickok meter was cleaned inside and out and is calibrated to a perfect 100uA and 1165 ohms, and a new Panasonic 100uF capacitor installed.

The 7-pin min and the 9 pin noval tested the tubes with no issues and look as though they have not been used (close up of the sockets in a picture), and added full size socket savers to the 9-pin noval and 7-pin min to keep them in new condition.

6L6 calibration tube with Gm of 5500/5600 was tested with results of 5500 right on the original 6K mark on the dial.

The same 6L6 calibration tube with Gm of 5500/5600 was tested with results of 5500 right on the original 15K mark.

A 12AX7 calibration tube with an average Gm of 1400 to 1900 was tested with results of 1600 right at the original 3K mark on the dial.

A 6AQ5 with Gm of 4600 to 4900 on several calibrated Hickok testers being tested using the 6K mark on the dial with results of 5000.

A 6KM6 compactron was tested using the plate cap in the one of compactrons sockets with accurate results of 5400.

A very clean and accurate 6000A with very little use and all voltages within spec.

The original line adjust rheostat is 350 ohms so a SS83 would be a practical choice to replace the 83 Mercury Rectifier.

Included are books for foreign and obsolete tube data and a DVD of the operation manual that includes tube data, obsolete, foreign, and domestic; voltage specs; schematic; additional information on maintenance, and Hickok's calibration procedures for the 6000/A.

NOTE on the factory calibration data; there are a few errors e.g. Hickok’s calibration procedure for the 6000 has the screen spec at 135.0 which is incorrect. That is the spec with a 20000 ohms/volt meter and it shows it to be the same 135V for the 1000 ohms/volt meter which is a typo and it should be 130V on 1000 ohms/volt meter which is the same on every other Hickok tube tester.
